The following enhancements are targeted to improve the refund process for venues utilizing prepaid payments for their reservations.

This feature release will ensure an automatic email notification is sent out to diners who have made prepaid reservations in their reservations via TableCheck that have been refunded by the merchant (venues).
Prior to this release, even when venues processed refunds, diners were unable to receive notification confirmation of this action, leading to inquiries pertaining to the refund timing. With the release of this feature, diners will be able to confirm this action independently.
Important Notes
- This email notifies that the refund process has been completed on TableCheck's end. The actual receipt of refunded funds to the diner varies depending on the diner's card issuer (this is also stated in the email notification).
- The refund email notification is sent once the refund action has been completed by the venue via TableCheck Manager.

The following enhancements are added to ease the process of managing refunds on prepaid reservations with any applicable cancellation rules.
Improvement 1: Pending Refund Reservations Now Display in the “Unprocessed” Tab
When there are cancellation rules applied, any prepaid reservation cancelled outside the full penalty window will now be displayed as “Pending Refund” in the “Unprocessed” tab on the “Payments” screen in TableCheck Manager. This reduces the risk of overlooking reservations that require refunds.
Improvement 2: New Refund Management Prompt
The refund prompt will now display the following information each time a refund is attempted on TableCheck Manager:
- Amount to Refund and Amount to Keep (automatically calculated based on the cancellation time and the venue's cancellation fee settings)
- Cancellation policy details
- Breakdown of the cancellation fee
Users can manually adjust the refund amount or cancellation fee as needed in unique situations, and the prompt will update the new amounts accordingly.
Please Note※ If the cancellation was made within a time window where no refunds are meant to be issued, this reservation will then remain displayed in the “Prepay” tab as before.
※ It is not possible to charge a higher cancellation fee amount than the original prepaid amount.
