The TableCheck system is designed to accept cancellations up to the last minute in order to make vacated seats available to diners, so disabling cancellation or hiding the cancel button is not a supported feature.
If there is no cancellation button, it may lead to more no-shows.
However, by accepting alerts about late or absent (no-show) diners, venues can make seats available to other diners sooner.
Dealing with Cancellations
Option: Using the "Cancellation Protection" Feature
To reduce no-shows and last-minute cancellations, a credit card payment feature is available.By having customers provide credit card details at the time of booking, it allows venues to collect cancellation fees according to the cancellation policy if guests cancel or are absent.
Setting Alerts for Same-Day Reservations
By setting up alerts, you can receive notifications about same-day reservations via SMS, email, or on the reservation management screen.
Adding a Cancellation Policy
By including a note in the cancellation policy, such as 'Please contact us by phone for cancellations within X days of your reservation date,' you can display the specified text on the confirmation page before the reservation is finalized, and to the diner again when cancelling.
If you're using the credit card payment feature [pre-authorization], a 'Cancellation Fee' button will appear on the management interface (Manager Screen) for reservations that fall within the cancellation fee period outlined in your policy settings.
Adding a Note to the Reservation Confirmation Screen or to Notifications
You can include a note such as 'Please contact us by phone for cancellations within X days of your reservation date' on the reservation confirmation screen, customer emails, notifications from the restaurant, or the cancellation policy, making it visible to diners.
