TableCheck allows the use of debit and prepaid cards, although such uses are not encouraged.
Prepaid and debit cards are being used in conjunction with an issued bank account, which requires the amount to be precharged in order to be used. Therefore, when a booking requires a pre-authorization (holding credit) to book, in cases of the debit and prepaid cards, the amount will be instantaneously deducted on the spot.
As debit and prepaid cards cannot be automatically blocked when entering the card information into the system, we encourage that you state explicitly that customers not use them when trying to make reservations.
As a default, venues who have opted in for the credit card pre-authorization function, will have the following warning displayed to diners on the reservation confirmation page when prompted to key in their credit card details.
